Cassidy Accasia is a new artist you should watch in 2021, as she is getting ready to release her first single Rare. A thing she’s prepared for her whole life. At a young age, she drew her inspiration from her parents.

“At four years or five years, I watched as my mom orchestrate her band rehearsals in the living room of our house. And inside her studio. I can remember wanting nothing more but to be handed the mic as if it were “my turn,” said Cassidy.

“My inspiration grew as I watched her run her as a fully functional business owner with her band and recording studio. The entire time we were in the studio, it became our second home. It gave me a sense that I could do that too.

She always dreamed of growing up in Wetumpka, Alabama, to perform like her mother, Lisa Jackson.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing like my mother,” Cassidy said.

Her parents, Roland and Lisa Jackson have their own bands, and that’s something they did together and made sure they instilled in their daughter. Cassidy started her professional career when she was 13 years old. Traveling all over the country, she was able to play and find her voice. Now she’s ready to go solo.

According to Cassidy, she grew up studying: An entire spectrum of old-school artists. I haven’t listened to many new schools around my parents, which is why people feel like I have an “old soul” until now. From Chaka to Mary J, LTD, Shalamar, Guy, Cameo, SWV, Jodeci, ConFunkShun. There’s no end to it!”

Cassidy will release her first single Rare, showcasing her true rhythm and blues, soul persona, which she shared at Medium.

“Rare is a love song with a classic R&B musical from the old school. I adore this song because it embodies my true beat and blues soul persona. It is the experience of an uncommon love that must be cherished. I hope my fans like this song just as much as I do.”

The single doesn’t contain anything about the project, but it was produced by Todd Perkins, who happens to be his uncle. When asked if it would be part of an album, Cassidy said it was considered, but she focuses only on the single.

Cassidy is also celebrating her recent graduation from a historically black college, Alabama State University, where she is known for her skills as a dancer, rapper, animator, theatre, and singer.
